M&P Legal is delighted to announce that trainee advocate Carly Wilson has successfully completed the Manx Bar Exams at her first attempt. Carly, who gained a distinction in her Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Chester College, joined M&P Legal in September 2012 initially as a paralegal. Her formal period of training as an advocate commenced in March 2013 and Carly passed all four heads in the May 2014 sitting of the exams. The four heads are Civil Litigation, Criminal Litigation, Land, European Union & Constitutional and Company, Tax & Financial Supervision Commission.

Carly, a former Ballakermeen High School pupil, said after passing her exams: "The Manx Bar Exams are easily the most demanding set of exams I have taken and I am delighted to have passed them on my first attempt."

Carly's principal, head of litigation Advocate John Aycock commented: "Carly is to be congratulated on passing these exacting exams first time - this is a real achievement borne out of hard work and dedication. The Manx Bar Exams require detailed and thorough local legal knowledge, which is then carried through into daily practice as an Advocate. She can now complete her training period with the reassuring knowledge that her professional exams are behind her. Carly is continuing to get involved in our varied and interesting legal workload and is looking forward to qualifying next year".
