In conjunction with the Island's private school King William's College, M&P Legal provides an annual prize to a leading College student who submits an essay on a given legal topic.

This year the College has announced that the M&P Legal Law prize has gone to Gaia Manners-Armstrong who submitted what was described as an excellent piece of work analysing the legal aspects of the decision by Belgian law makers to ban women from wearing full face Islamic veils in public places. The panel of judges was particularly impressed with the comments made by Gaia on the applicability of the European Convention on Human Rights to the Isle of Man (which is not an EU member).

The standard of competition was extremely high and all other essays were praised for their content and background research.

The M&P Legal prize was presented to Gaia at the King William's College Founders Day held on 29 May 2010. Appropriately the law prize was presented by the guest of honour Sir Nigel Teare, himself a High Court Judge and also a former pupil of King William's College.
