M&P Legal trainee Advocate Joe Burrows has passed all four Manx Bar exams at first sitting and is now well on the way to qualifying as a Manx Advocate.
Joe, a Ballakermeen former pupil who has represented the Isle of Man at cricket and badminton, is part way through his two year training contract at the Island law firm during which he trains in various areas of local law. He is due to be admitted to the Manx Bar in November 2021. Joe said: “I am incredibly glad to have passed them all first time through, and I am looking forward to starting my career when I am hopefully called to the bar later this year.”
Joe achieved very creditable grades in passing the exams on various aspects of Isle of Man law. He graduated from Loughborough University in 2017 then studied professional legal courses in Bristol achieving merits in both courses. During his training period his Principal at M&P Legal is director Damian Molyneux who oversees all aspects of the training. Damian commented: ‘Joe should be congratulated on this fantastic achievement, it is no easy task to pass all exams first time. We are seeing in Joe a hard worker with meticulous attention to detail and he has a very promising legal career ahead of him’.
